Next we went a little way past Logan Pass to the Gunsight Pass trailhead. This was a totally different kind of trail. Much of it is through tall undergrowth that encroaches on the foot path. It starts off going steeply down for about a mile. At that point is a beautiful spot atop a rock outcropping that has been cut through by the river. We stopped there for a lunch break.

Next you cross the river on a suspension bridge. Right on the other side is a primitive camp site.

Then the path went inland for a bit. Eventually the trail opens out again and you get a great view of the glacier high above.

We turned back before long. I stopped again at the waterfall to rest and refuel then made the final 1 mile climb back up to the parking lot. Elizabeth and I thought it was a tough climb but Mimi was barely breathing hard!
