After cycling in Missoula we made the drive to Columbia Falls, which is right outside of Glacier. The place we stayed had the most peaceful aura; probably the Alpacas had something to do with it!

After unpacking we decided to drive in to Glacier. No sooner had we entered the park when we saw our first Bear! This guy was in the top of a tree beside the road. The tree had branches full of wild cherries and the bear had come up with an ingenious plan to gnaw off a whole branch, thereby securing a portable supply of cherries.

We took the "Going to the Sun Highway" which runs high up along the side of a mountain overlooking a deep gorge.

There is a visitor center at Logan Pass, the highest point on Going to the Sun Highway. Logan Pass is an idyllic alpine meadow and right in the middle of it all was a white mountain goat! We just couldn't comprehend that one place could be so beautiful.
